The poor guy didn’t even get to enjoy it because “he said he threw the doughnut away as he fled.”
The possible 30 year sentence isn’t really because of this particular crime, but because he proved that after more than a dozen other crimes, he still refuses to follow societies rules. Maybe in 30 years he’ll have developed more responsible behavior, but they better keep a cell with his name on it.
